Acheron is the Greek river of pain and suffering

Ma'at And Isfet

Hello there. My name is Nocturne. Of course that's not my real name but that's not important. If you knew my name you'd know my nationality and that might affect the way you respond to this blog and how you perceive it. One thing you should know about me is I'm into music and it's a big part of my life.
I listen to a lot of stuff. Rap, Blues, Folk, Rock.....even a little Pop. But one genre that has stood out for me is Heavy Metal. It's a genre that has been despised and abhorred by a lot of people. People over the years have told me that it's noise, there's absolutely no talent present in the genre. What most don't know is that they have a warped understanding of music. Most people think that music is supposed to be soothing and melodic at all times. On the contrary music is an expression of emotion. Be it joy, sorrow or love. Even rage. That's what Metal is about. It's about rage, anger, fear and sorrow. In today's music industry mostly these negative emotions are shunned and hidden. Lets face it. No one is happy all the time. No one is free from fear or anger. I understand why people don't like Metal. They just don't want to confront the darker side of life because they're afraid. Or they just want to remain in denial. The ancient Egyptian religion believed in the dual concept of Ma'at and Isfet. Chaos and Order. They believed that Order cannot exist without Chaos and Chaos cannot exist without Order. It's the same with emotions. The positive ones cannot exist without the negative. I just want to conclude this by saying that music is supposed to come from the heart because music is emotion
